Moving to a new town can be a tremendous transition. Trying to make a
foreign place feel like home takes time, but it helps if you have
neighbors who can show you the ropes: like drawing this community closer to your heart so that
it feels like you’re coming home rather than leaving it.
That’s why the Columbia Welcome Service was established. Since 1962, the Columbia Welcome Service has been visiting 20 newcomers a month for the past 45 years. We service not just Columbia but anyone new to Maury County because we have come to know this area with our hearts. We have fallen in love with everything from the friendliness of the people, to the thriving charm of the “mom and pop” local businesses, to the accessible outdoor living graced with rivers and rolling hills.
If you have moved to Maury County within the past year, you can "knock on our door" by giving us a call, sending an email, or filling out the form on the Contact page. Not only is our service a great benefit to newcomers, but it's easy!
All we do is come to your home and drop off a welcome bag. In it you’ll find an area map as well as lots of information about attractions of local interest such as parks, historical sites and community events. Local businesses also like to offer coupons and other “welcome” gifts in our bags. We’re also available to answer any questions you may have, even knowledge about all the neat finds and secret spots Maury County has to offer.
